KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) has apprehended four individuals in possession of Rs 23 million from an undisclosed source.
A team deputed by the DRI on Friday arrested Naresh Agrawal and his three associates in Chhatrapati, Kathmandu. The funds were discovered during a raid at Agrawal’s residence. DRI sources suspect that the money was intended for illegal money transfer transactions, commonly known as Hundi.
DRI officials plan to obtain a remand for the four individuals from the Kathmandu District Court for further investigation.
