KATHMANDU: Four ambassadors from different countries presented their letters of credence to President Ram Chandra Paudel on Thursday.
In separate ceremonies held at the Office of the President, Japan’s ambassador Maeda Toru, Turkmenistan’s ambassador Shalar Geldinazarov, Laos’ ambassador Bounmy Vanmany, and Iran’s ambassador Dr Iraj Elahi formally submitted their credentials.
While Japan has an embassy in Kathmandu, the ambassadors of Turkmenistan, Laos, and Iran are based in India.
According to a statement issued by the Office of the President, the ambassadors were escorted to the ceremony in horse-drawn carriages from Hotel Dusit Princess in Lazimpat.
