KATHMANDU: Bhairav Bahadur Saud, chairperson of Badikedar Rural Municipality in Doti, and Prashant Kumar Sona, second secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, jointly laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Shree Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus building on Monday.
The campus building is a High Impact Community Development Project of the Indian embassy. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 28.9 million.
“The Government of India grant under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ will be utilized for the construction of a double-storied campus building with other facilities for this campus. The project is being undertaken as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), under an Agreement between the Government of India and the Government of Nepal, and is being implemented through Badikedar Rural Municipality, Doti,” the Indian embassy said in a statement.
Since 2003, the Government of India has initiated over 550 HICDPs in Nepal in various sectors and has completed 488 projects. Forty of these projects are in Sudurpashchim Province, including four in Doti.
