KATHMANDU: Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal has been recommended for appointment as Nepal’s ambassador for Benelux nations and the European Union.
A cabinet meeting held on Thursday recommended Lamsal for the position which is becoming vacant soon. She will take the position upon retirement on age grounds after a few months.
Lamsal became Nepal’s first Foreign Secretary when she was promoted to the position of Joint Secretary on December 15, 2023.
She earlier served as Nepal’s ambassador to Pakistan from 2016 to 2020.
