Foreign minister Khanal holds bilateral meeting with his Indian counterpart

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal held a bilateral meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar on Friday.

According to the foreign ministry, Dr Jaishankar congratulated Minister Khanal on assuming office of the foreign ministry.

The two foreign ministers, who met on the sidelines of the 9th Indian Ocean Conference in Port Louis, Mauritius, reviewed the longstanding and multifaceted relationship between Nepal and India, and discussed a wide range of bilateral issues.

“Both sides held constructive and forward-looking discussions on matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations,” the foreign ministry said in a social media post.

Khanal is currently in Mauritius to participate in the 9th Indian Ocean Conference being held from April 10 to 12.
