KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba met with her Indian counterpart S Jaishankar in New Delhi on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on bilateral interests, cooperation, and expanding relations.
“I expect this visit to further strengthen the centuries-old Nepal-India relationship,” Minister Rana wrote in her social media page after the meeting.
Likewise, Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said they discussed issues of multifaceted cooperation including energy, trade, connectivity and infrastructure development. “Glad to note that Nepal will be exporting close to 1,000 MW of electricity to India, a new milestone. Our Neighbourhood First policy and unique people-to-people & cultural connect propels our relationship forward,” Jaishankar wrote in a post in X.
Minister Rana traveled to New Delhi on Sunday for a five-day visit to India at the invitation of Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. This is her first foreign trip since being appointed as Foreign Minister. She is scheduled to return home on August 22.
