Fog in Tarai, partly cloudy conditions in hills

KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds.

According to a bulletin published by the division on Friday morning, the weather is partly cloudy in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki Province, while it is generally clear in the remaining hilly and mountainous regions. Some areas in the Tarai region of the Koshi and Madhesh provinces are experiencing fog.

The division has said that fog and mist are likely to persist until midday in most parts of the Tarai. While Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are expected to see partly cloudy conditions, the weather in other hilly and mountainous areas will remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of fog in some Tarai areas tonight.

Stating that fog and mist in the Tarai could partially affect daily life, tourism, health, as well as air and road transportation, the division has urged people to take necessary precautions.
