FMTC to sell goats, mountain goats from Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The Food Management and Trading Company (FMTC) has announced that it will start selling goats and mountain goats to consumers for the Dashain festival from Tuesday.

According to FMTC officials, the prices of live goats and mountain goats have been set at Rs 680 and Rs 1,260 per kg, respectively. Consumers, however, will get a discount of Rs 10 per kg.

FMTC will sell goats and mountain goats from its Bagmati Province Office in Thapathali starting at 8 am on Tuesday.

The state-owned trading company sourced goats from districts like Makwanpur, Dang, and Kailali, while it brought mountain goats from Rasuwa. It plans to sell approximately 2,000 goats and 1,000 mountain goats for this Dashain festival.
