KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba held a bilateral meeting with Wopke Hoekstra, Commissioner for Climate, Net Zero and Clean Growth at the European Commission in Berlin on Thursday.
Various aspects of Nepal-EU relations were discussed in the meeting, focusing on climate change, the development of Nepal’s clean energy, and Nepal’s leadership on the mountain agenda, Rana said in a social media post.
On the occasion, Minister Rana also called for the EU’s continued support for funding, technology transfer and capacity-building for Nepal’s mitigation and adaptation efforts.
Rana embarked on a 13-day Europe visit on December 7, leading the Nepali delegation to the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
She is also scheduled to visit Germany to attend the Equal Rights Coalition Conference in Berlin on December 17-18, at the invitation of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. She will also hold high-level meetings with officials from Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, and the European Union, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
