DHANGADHI: Landslides and flooding triggered by heavy monsoon rains have disrupted vehicular traffic in different parts of the Sudurpashchim Province.

According to the Nepal Police Highway Security and Traffic Management Office in Attariya, Kailali, several major roads in the hilly regions of the province like Dhangadhi-Dadeldhura, Dadeldhura-Dipayal, Budar-Jogbuda, and Khodpe-Bajhang have been blocked since Friday night due to landslides.

The Bhimdatta Highway, a crucial link connecting seven hilly districts of Sudurpaschim Province, has been obstructed at six to seven locations. In Doti district, the Jorayal road and the Sahajpur-BP Nagar road have also been blocked by landslides.

In Kanchanpur, the road section from Doke Bazaar to Belauri is submerged in the floodwaters. Several settlements in the Kailali district, including Bhajani, Janaki Nagar, Pathariya, Kailari, and Joshipur, are inundated.
