Five school bus drivers arrested in Pokhara for drunk driving

POKHARA: Police have arrested five school bus drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol during surprise checks carried out across different parts of Pokhara on Monday.

The District Police Office, Kaski, launched the operation following complaints that some school bus drivers were operating vehicles after consuming alcohol.

Those arrested have been identified as Anandar Pariyar (33) of Mount Heaven Boarding School, Gautam Gurung (37) of Kumudini Homes Boarding School, Bhakta Bahadur Gurung (44) of Bindeshwari School, Dambar Bahadur Gurung (48) of Anjali Boarding School, and Padam BK (47) of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School.

According to DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for the Kaski Police, necessary legal action has been initiated against the drivers.
