KATHMANDU: Five people, including a ward chairperson, died in a jeep accident in Ramechhap district on Friday afternoon.
According to DSP Pradip Singh, chief of the District Police Office, Ramechhape, a jeep en route to Betali from Kathmandu fell 300 meters off the road near Simaldanda in Gokulganga Rural Municipality-6.
One of the deceased has been identified as Ward-4 Chairperson Ram Chandra Basnet, according to Gokulganga Rural Municipality Chairperson Kaji Bahadur Khadka.
Three injured have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
