Finance minister forms three-member experts group

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has formed a three-member experts group for budget preparation.

Dr Bishwonath Poudel has been appointed as the chief advisor, while Dr Poshraj Pandey and Dr Gunakar Bhatta will serve as advisers.

Dr Bhatta is the incumbent director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB). He has been brought on deputation at the finance ministry. Dr Poudel and Dr Bhatta have been given the minister of state level ranking. The two won’t draw any salary.

De Poudel had resigned as the Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission to contest the November 20 election in the Chitwan-1 constituency. Similarly, Dr Pandey is an expert in international trade.
