KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has published the final counting results of proportional representation (PR) votes of the November 20 election.
According to Rishi Ram Bhusal, the deputy spokesperson for the EC, the final results of the PR vote count have been published on the website of the EC. “There were 10,560,067 valid votes under the PR system,” Bhusal added.
The final results of the FPTP vote count came on Monday.
Total Valid Votes: 10,560,067
Largest Party: CPN-UML (2,845,641 votes)
Smallest Party: Nationalist People’s Party (2018 votes)
Parties crossing threshold: 7
As per the final counting results of PR votes posted on the EC’s website, CPN-UML has become the highest party with 2,845,641 PR votes, while Nationalist People’s Party has become the 47th largest party with 2,018 votes.
Altogether seven parties – CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Janamat Party – has crossed the 3% threshold to become a national party.
