KATHMANDU: Federal Democratic Front, an alliance of seven Madhesh-centric political parties, is holding its first meeting in Kathmandu on Thursday.
Mahantha Thakur, the chairperson of Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal, will chair the Front’s first meeting. The meeting, which will be hosted by LSP Nepal, will discuss contemporary issues and formulate future action plans, according to LSP Nepal General Secretary Manish Mishra. “The meeting will also determine the Front’s future direction and strategies,” he added.
Seven Madhes-centric political parties announced the formation of the front in Kathmandu on April 3 to set a common viewpoint on constitutional amendments that the ruling coalition of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML plans to make.
Along with LSP Nepal, the Front comprises the Janamat Party, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal, Nagrik Unmukti Party, Rastriya Mukti Party, Janata Pragatishil Party, and Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party.
