KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his confidence that the Federal Civil Service Bill will be endorsed by the parliament at the earliest.

Speaking at an event organized to mark the 20th Civil Service Day on Friday, Dahal said that the cabinet held last week decided to register the bill in parliament. “I am hopeful that we will be able to forge census among political for passage of the Bill,” he added.

He added that the long-awaited Federal Civil Service Act would serve as a milestone in the institutionalization of administrative federalism, consolidating the federal democratic republic, and ensuring functional collaboration among the three tiers of government.

Dahal also said that the government remains committed to enhancing the competitiveness of the civil administration. “This will be achieved by revitalizing the entire administrative system, boosting the morale of civil servants, and by maintaining transparency, fairness, accountability, competence,” he added.

He added that the government’s primary task was to institutionalize political changes and steer the nation toward the goals of social justice, good governance, and prosperity. Further, he underlined the government’s commitment to the effective implementation of federalism, good governance, public service delivery, and a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, all aligned with the spirit of the constitution.
