KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to provide a compensation of Rs 1 million each to families of two youths who lost their lives during a pro-monarchy protest in Kathmandu on Friday.
Sabin Maharjan of Kirtipur died after receiving a police bullet, while TV journalist Suresh Rajak was burnt to death when demonstrators set the commercial building, from where he was covering the protest, on fire.
According to Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak’s Secretariat, the ministry has already recommended to the finance ministry to release the funds.
