Experts panel formed to review NEA’s disputed electricity bills

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has formed a three-member team of experts to study electricity bills issued by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to industries consuming electricity supplied by dedicated feeders and trunk lines.

The committee has been tasked with collecting and verifying necessary facts and evidence related to electricity dues and recalculating previous dues based on data from the Time of Day (ToD) meter, according to Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.

The committee is led by Prof Dr Arvind Kumar Mishra of the National College of Engineering), while Chartered Accountant Sujan Kumar Kafle and Shreeram Raj Pandey are the members.

The committee will examine electricity bills issued to industries using dedicated feeders and trunk lines from January 2016 to April 2018 as recommended by a commission led by former Supreme Court Justice Girish Chandra Lal
