KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu Saturday hosted an ‘Alumni Get Together’ to celebrate the achievements of Nepali citizens who graduated from various educational institutions in Pakistan.
According to a press statement issued by the embassy, recipients of scholarships under the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) in fields such as MBBS, BDS, D. Pharmacy, and BS Engineering participated in the program.
Speaking at the program, Prof Dr Bhola Thapa, Vice-Chancellor of Kathmandu University, emphasized the deep and warm friendship between Nepal and Pakistan. Expressing gratitude for Pakistan’s support in Nepal’s development, particularly in the field of technical education, Thapa thanked the Government of Pakistan for providing quality education to Nepali students in renowned educational institutions.
Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, said the scholarships provided by Pakistan to Nepali reflect the close people-to-people relations between the two nations. He added that Nepali students forged lifelong friendships during their time in Pakistan and carried positive memories with them throughout their lives. He also assured ongoing support from Pakistan for educational scholarships to Nepali students in the future.
