KATHMANDU: Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has reiterated that the elections will be held on the scheduled date and time.
Speaking at a program organized by Gorkhapatra Corporation in Kathmandu on Sunday, Bhandari said preparations were on track, and the election will be conducted as planned.
“Some candidates are still calling the Election Commission (EC) with doubts about whether the election will take place. I urge them not to be confused and instead focus on their campaign activities,” Bhandari said. “There is no alternative to elections. There is no possibility of the electoral environment being disrupted.”
Stating that political parties, candidates, and their supporters are actively engaged in campaigning, he said that the government will prevent any attempts to disrupt the election or create instability. “Some frustrated individuals may spread unnecessary rumors to serve certain vested interests,” he said. “But the Nepali people will no longer remain silent witnesses to such attempts. The electoral environment will not be disturbed. The election will be held under any circumstances.”
