Eight dead, 24 injured in Nisikhola bus accident

POKHARA: Eight individuals died, and 24 others were injured in a passenger bus accident in Nisikhola of Baglung on Monday.

Surya Bahadur Gharti, chairperson of Nishikhola Rural Municipality, said the bus heading from Rukum East to Kathmandu met with an accident at Jaulepani – 118 kilometers west of Baglung district headquarters – on the Mid-Hills Highway on Monday evening. “The bus fell some 300 meters off the road,” Gharti said.

Four of the deceased are women. Likewise, nine out of the 24 injured are women. The injured have been taken to a health post in Burtibang for treatment, according to Raj Kumar BK, chief of Area Police Office, Burtibang.
