KATHMANDU: Eight persons died and 17 others were injured when a passenger bus heading from Kathmandu to Pokhara met with an accident near Gajuri of Dhading on Wednesday morning,
According to Armed Police Force (APF) Joint Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa, the bus veered off the road near Chalise in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 of Dhading and plunged into Trishuli River.
Thirteen seriously injured passengers have been referred to Kathmandu, while four others are receiving treatment in Malekhu, said Thapa.
“A 16-member team from APF’s Disaster Management Base in Adamghat and eight members, including divers, from Disaster Management Training School, Kurintar, were deployed for the rescue operation,” he added.
