KATHMANDU: Industrialist and Member of House and Representatives, Binod Chaudhary, has said that the decision to link him to the Bansbari land grab scam was merely a ‘stunt’.
Chaudhary said raising a land dispute against someone, who has vowed to develop the country through industrialization, is just a stunt.
Talking to reporters after giving statement to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) regarding the Bansbari land scam on Thursday, Chaudhary said efforts are being made to politicize the industrial sector.
CIB took statement from Chaudhary for 2 hours.
“I have been an entrepreneur for 42 years. I know what ethics are,” said Chaudhary. “Even though I am a political worker, this issue should never have been linked to my business.”
Chaudahry is also a central working committee member of Nepali Congress.
“To link me to the case dating back to more than four decades shows malicious intent,” Chaudary said, adding that he too has been studying the land dispute case since it came to light.
