EC submits election report to President Paudel

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has handed over the report of the 2026 House of Representatives elections to President Ram Chandra Paudel.

Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari, along with other Commissioners and EC officials, reached the Office of the President to submit the report on Wednesday afternoon.

Bhandari handed over the report to President Paudel.

Speaking on the occasion, President Paudel expressed happiness that the EC has completed its responsibility by holding elections in difficult circumstances. He thanked the EC, EC officials, government personnel, and all involved in the electoral process.

“The EC has successfully fulfilled its responsibility by conducting the House of Representatives elections on March 5 in a free, fair, and fear-free environment. This has enhanced public confidence in the EC and the electoral system,” Paudel said. “I feel the successful conduct of the election has further strengthened democracy.”

The election process is considered completed after the report is handed over to the President.
