KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has set the maximum expenditure ceiling for candidates participating in the April 23 by-election.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the EC stated that the expenditure ceiling is in accordance with the notice published in the Gazette before the House of Representatives election held on November 20 last year.
As per the decision, candidates in Chitwan-2 and Bara-2 constituencies can spend a maximum of Rs. 3.1 million, while candidates in Tanahun-1 are allowed to spend a maximum of Rs. 2.9 million.
Additionally, the EC has requested the candidates to submit their expenditure details at the concerned election offices within 35 days of the publication of the results.
