Dusit makes inroads in Nepal with two hotels

KATHMANDU: Thailand’s renowned hotel and property development company, Dusit International, is marking its entry into Nepal with the opening of two properties – Dusit Princess Kathmandu and Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort Dhulikhel.

While Dusit Princess Kathmandu opened its doors on July 17, the luxury resort in Dhulikhel is set to open on July 24.

Located in the Lazimpat neighborhood of Kathmandu, a short 18-minute drive from Tribhuvan International Airport, Dusit Princess Kathmandu promises a unique blend of local culture and architecture. Boasting 107 beautifully appointed guest rooms ranging from 28 to 62 sq m, along with a lavish Presidential Suite spanning over 159 sq m, the hotel offers an oasis of relaxation amidst the bustling city. The hotel boasts a specialty Thai restaurant, Soi, as well as the Dusit Gourmet outlet. It also features the rooftop Kibu Sky Lounge and Blue bar, which features, according to the hotel, the city’s highest infinity pool that provides a breathtaking view of the city skyline.

According to the hotel, Crest Spa, which is opening very soon, offers a range of Thai-inspired massage therapies and beauty treatments.

The hotel has five meeting venues – Vista, Gallery, Princess Ballroom, Lumbini 1 and Lumbini 2 – with capacities ranging from 35 to 250.

Similarly, Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort Dhulikhel, which is situated between the Mahabharat range and Alpine highland ridge, offers a tranquil escape, approximately one hour’s drive from Tribhuvan International Airport and only 10 minutes from the revered Namo Buddha, a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site.
