KATHMANDU: Police have announced the arrest of Durga Prasai, who had been absconding for several days, from Jhapa.
The Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police at Nepal Police Headquarters issued a press release on Friday, stating that Prasai and his bodyguard, Deepak Khadka, have been arrested.
Police had been absconding since the Tinkune incident that claimed two lives. Cases related to crimes against the state and organized crime have been filed against him.
Prasai’s supporters claim that he surrendered before police in Assam state of India on Thursday.
