Durga Prasai arrested from Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: Controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai has been arrested.

A team from the District Police Office, Bhaktapur, arrested Prasai from his residence in Bhaktapur on Sunday afternoon.

Kathmandu District Court had issued an arrest warrant for Prasai on Wednesday after a complaint was filed against him and two others on a case of cybercrime.

“A team of District Police Office, Bhaktapur, arrested Prasai. We are now handing him over to the Cyber Bureau,” DSP Mohan Mani Adhikari said.

Police have also intensified the search for two others – Jivan Pandey and Prakash Chandra Dahal. They will be tried under the Electronic Transaction Act.

A case was filed with the Cyber Bureau a few days ago, accusing the three of giving and publishing interviews on online media to damage the reputation and credibility of others.
