Dolpa cut off as floodwater submerges makeshift bridge at Tallubagar of Jajarkot An under-construction Bailey bridge on Bheri River at Tallubagar of Jajarkot collapsed about a month ago.

KATHMANDU: The Dolpa-Jajarkot road section of the Bheri Corridor Road has been disrupted due to increased water flow in the Bheri River.

According to the District Administration Office, Dolpa, vehicular traffic has been affected as flood waters submerged hume pipes used to make a makeshift bridge at Tallubagar of Jajarkot. Trucks carrying supplies to Dolpa from Nepalgunj, Surkhet, Butwal, and Dang, among others, have been stranded at Tallubagar.

Furthermore, the recently initiated direct bus service from Dolpa to Nepalgunj has also be affected due to the road blockage. Passenger buses and cargo trucks traveling from Nepalgunj to Dolpa and vice versa will not be able to reach their destinations directly. It is only possible to travel by bus from Dolpa to Chera Bagar in Rukum West. Similarly, passengers traveling from Nepalgunj to Dolpa can only reach Tallu Bagar in Jajarkot.

An under-construction Bailey bridge at Tallu Bagar had collapsed about a month ago.
