KATHMANDU: The Department of Industry (DoI) has approved investment proposals worth Rs 9.13 billion for four projects.
According to the Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Division under the DoI, an investment of Rs 6 billion has been approved for an investment company to be opened in Bhaktapur. Likewise, Rs 3 billion investment has been approved for a commercial building in Kathmandu. Similarly, Rs 76.6 million investment has been approved for a 200 KW hydropower project in Mohanyal Rural Municipality of Kailali. The rural municipality will invest 15% of the project cost, while remaining 85% will be contributed by UK-based Achelous Energy.
DoI has also approved an investment proposal of Rs 62.5 million for a hotel and restaurant project in Lalitpur district.
Meanwhile, the DoI inaugurated an automated system for foreign investment approval.
