KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that discussions regarding constitutional amendments were underway.
Speaking briefly to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Monday, Oli said that talks about amending the constitution were in progress. He also added that the government was working on economic reform agendas.
Oli’s comment comes at a time when the ruling coalition is drawing criticism for not advancing discussion on constitutional amendments.
The two largest parties in the House of Representatives – Npeali Congress and CPN-UML – reached an understanding to form a coalition government in the first week of July to bring political stability in the country and amend the constitution.
PM Oli arrived in Biratnagar on Monday to attend the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences convocation ceremony.
