KATHMANDU: Dirgha Sodari of CPN (Unified Socialist) has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province.
Province Chief Nazir Miyan appointed Sodari to the position as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, according to a press statement issued by the Office of the Province Chief.
Sodari had submitted his claim to form government earlier on Thursday with the support of CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center), Nagarik Unmukti Party and Unified Socialist.
As per the understanding reached among ruling coalition partners, Unified Socialist and Nagarik Unmukti Party will lead the province government by turns.
