KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has said that the historical Dharahara tower will be opened to the general public soon.
Talking to journalists on Wednesday, Singh said the government is making arrangements for people to climb Dharahara within the first 100 days of the government.
The KP Oli-led coalition government was formed on July 15.
“All the work on Dharahara premises may not be completed by then. But we will make necessary arrangements to allow interested people to climb Dharahara,” he added.
Responding to queries about new cities, Singh said that the process had been delayed because past governments were not stable. “Now that we have a stable government of two major parties, the process of developing and systematizing new cities will gain momentum,” Singh added.
According to Singh, the ministry is holding needful discussions with local governments to manage the waste of the Kathmandu Valley.
