KATHMANDU: Prime Miniter and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba spent Rs 2.6 million in the November 20 election.

Deuba spent a total of Rs 2,612,000 in the election as per the expenditure detail furnished at the District Election Office, Dadeldhura.

The NC leader has submitted expenditures made under different headings like fuel, transportation, meals, stage management, publicity, office expenses, and miscellaneous expenses, according to District Election Officer Karnuakar Abasthi.

Deuba was allowed to spend a maximum of Rs 3.1 million as per the expenditure ceiling fixed by the Election Commission.

“Candidates have started furnishing details of expenses made during the election. NC President Deuba submitted his details on Tuesday,” Abasthi told Himal Press.

Altogether 14 candidates have submitted their expenditure details, according to Abasthi.

A total of 20 candidates – eight for the House of Representatives and 12 for the Sudurpashchim Province Assembly – were in the fray in Dadeldura.

Karna Bahadur Malla, the candidate of Nepali Congress (BP) in Dadeldhura, spent Rs 1.3 million, according to the election office.
