Deuba nominates eight to NC central working committee Sher Bahadur Deuba

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has nominated eight leaders to the party’s central working committee.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Krishna Prasad Poudel, the Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress Central Office, informed that President Deuba nominated Man Bahadur Bishwakarma of Arghakhanchi, Dr. Chandra Bhandari of Gulmi, Shiva Prasad Humagain of Kavre, Kiran Raj Sharma Poudel of Baglung, Bharat Kumar Shah of Rupandehi, Sharada Poudel of Kaski, and Anil Kumar Rungta of Parsa to the central working committee in accordance with Clause 21(10) of the Nepali Congress Statute, 1960.

Dr. Bhandari had contested the position of Vice President in the 14th General Convention but was defeated.

According to the statute, the party president is required to nominate 33 leaders to the central working committee within six months of the general convention. However, Deuba made these nominations 19 months after the general convention.

Deuba was elected President by the 14th general convention of the NC held in Kathmandu in December 2021.
