Deuba elected NC’s parliamentary leader

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected the party’s parliamentary leader.

In the election held on Wednesday, Deuba received 64 votes, while his opponent General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa got 25 votes.

Nepali Congress has 89 lawmakers in the House of Representatives. As per the party statute, only the parliamentary party leader can become the Prime Minister.
