KATHMANDU: Deputy Speaker Rubi Kumari was sworn in on Friday evening.
Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rubi amid a ceremony at the Office of the President.
Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Balendra Shah, and National Assembly Chairperson Naryan Prasad Dahal were present on the occasion.
Rubi Kumari of the Shram Sanskriti Party was elected Deputy Speaker earlier on Friday with the backing of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. Lawmakers from the Nepali Congress and the Nepali Communist Party also voted in her favor.
