Deputy PM Paudel discharged from hospital

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel, who was injured due to a balloon explosion during the official launchinof the Visit Pokhara Year campaign, has been discharged from Kirtipur Hospital.

Paudel had been receiving treatment at the hospital for the past two days.

The hospital also informed that the health condition of Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya is improving, but he will remain in the hospital for a few more days.

“Burn injuries of both individuals are healing, and there is no sign of lung infection. Therefore, it has been decided to discharge Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel from the hospital today,” the hospital said in a press release on Monday. “Since Mayor Dhanraj Acharya has a pre-existing high blood pressure condition, consultations with cardiologists are ongoing, and he will continue receiving treatment for a few more days.”

To minimize the risk of infection, hospital authorities have restricted visits to Mayor Acharya.
