KATHMANDU: Deepmala Kharel Dhakal has been crowned Miss Nepal Hong Kong 2026.
Miss Nepal Hong Kong 2024, Ashma Kumari KC, presented the crown to Deepmala during a grand coronation ceremony at the Eaton Hotel in Hong Kong on Thursday.
Deepmala will now represent Hong Kong at the Miss Nepal 2026 pageant, which is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu later this year.
“I am very happy. It feels like I now have a new responsibility,” she said. “Until yesterday, I was just the daughter of my family. Now, I am the daughter of all of Hong Kong. I will compete in Miss Nepal and make Hong Kong proud. Winning the Miss Nepal crown and engaging in social work is my next goal.”
Deepmala was directly appointed as Miss Nepal Hong Kong this year.

Deepmala works as an investment strategist at BlackRock, one of the world’s largest investment firms. Born and raised in Hong Kong, she joined BlackRock immediately after her graduation. A balanced combination of education, sports, arts, and management skills set her apart from others. According to the organizers, hard work, intellect, and professional competence earned her the opportunity to work at a prestigious international company like BlackRock. Despite this, she remains firmly committed to her Nepali identity. She holds a Nepali passport and uses both her parents’ surnames after her name.
Deepmala has a multidimensional personality. She is a marathon runner who has participated in the Hong Kong Marathon, a taekwondo practitioner, a skilled master of ceremonies and TED speaker, a runway model, and a member of Hong Kong Toastmasters.
While winning the title of Miss Nepal Hong Kong, she was awarded the title of “Goodwill Ambassador” by Nepal Cancer Hospital and Research Center. The organizers believe that this recognition will further encourage her to work in the social sector.
Ajay Ratna Sthapit, chairperson of The Hidden Treasure, addressed the program via video conference, while Rachana Gurung Sharma, the creative director and choreographer of the Miss Nepal pageant, attended the event in Hong Kong. All arrangements in Hong Kong were coordinated by Manish Limbu, the director and coordinator of The Hidden Treasure for Hong Kong.
According to Limbu, they believe that selecting a representative from Hong Kong to participate in the Miss Nepal competition in Nepal helps uphold Hong Kong’s reputation, credibility, and standards. “For this reason, The Hidden Treasure has adopted a policy of granting the Miss Nepal Hong Kong winner direct entry into the Miss Nepal competition,” he added.
Miss Nepal titleholders go on to represent Nepal at international beauty pageants such as Miss World and Miss Earth.
