SURKHET: The death toll in Jajarkot jeep accident has reached 11.
According to police, nine died on the spot while two succumbed to injuries while being rushed to hopsital for treatment. The jeep was carrying a patient to City Hospital in Chhedegad Municipality-5 from Khatijewa of Chhedagad-4.
The ill-fated jeep fell 200 meters off the road at Bhirbati at around 4:30 pm. The accident site lies eight kilometers east of Area Police Office, Dashera.
District Police Office, Jajarkot, has deployed a 10-member team for the rescue operation.
The deceased has been identified as Man Bahadur Rawat, Ammar Bahadur Khadka and Surendra KC of Bhagbatimai Rural Municipality of Dailekh; and Bir Bahadur Khatri, Jaya Kumar Budha, Naisara Adhikari, Ram Bahadur Budha, Deepak Adhikari, Devisara Budha, Ammar Bahadur Adhikari and Nisha Adhikari of Chhedagad Municipality of Jajarkot, according to police.
Jayanath Adhikari of Chhedagad-2 has been sent to Nepalgunj for treatment, according to District Police Office, Jajarkot.
