KATHMANDU: The death toll from disaster-related accidents across the country since Thursday afternoon has reached 204.
According to the Armed Police Force (APF), 28 people are missing and 89 others are injured. Likewise, floods and landslides have damaged 1,783 houses and 19 bridges across the country.
The three districts of Kathmandu Valley recorded 82 deaths—52 in Kathmandu, five in Bhaktapur and 25 in Lalitpur. Likewise, the death toll in Bagmati Province, excluding the three districts of Kathmandu Valley, stands at 94. Kavre accounted for 59 deaths, while 13 died in Sindhupalchowk, seven each in Makwanpur and Dolakha, four in Dhading, two in Sindhuli, and one each in Ramechhap and Nuwakot.
Koshi Province recorded 23 deaths—six in Panchthar, five in Solukhumbu, three each in Jhapa and Dhankuta, two each in Sunsari and Udayapur, and one each in Terhathum and Okhaldhunga. Likewise, three individuals lost their lives in Madhesh Province — two in Mahottari and one in Rautahat.
Similarly, two people died in floods in Rupandehi of Lumbini Province.
Security forces have rescued 3,401 individuals across the country, according to the APF.
