KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has warned that his party would be compelled to launch a street protest if the government continues to remain entangled in corruption.

Inaugurating the ‘YCL Campaign for Labor and Production’, organized by the party’s youth wing – Young Communist League (YCL), in Lalitpur on Thursday, Dahal accused the KP Sharma Oli-led government of being deeply involved in corruption. “If this behavior continues, we will soon be forced to take to the streets in protest,” he said.

Dahal said that his party, as the responsible opposition, has been consistently exposing the government’s failures and corrupt practices. He accused the current government, formed in the pretext of promoting good governance, of steering the country toward complete failure.

On the occasion, he also called on the youth to take a strong stand against corruption.

Dahal also termed the campaign initiated by YCL as a continuation of the party’s ‘Production Brigade’.
