KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has ruled out the possibility of forming an alliance with the Nepali Congress or the CPN-UML in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting at the party office on Tuesday, Dahal said he was not fearful of the Rabi-Balen alliance. “I support Rabi Lamichhane even during difficult times and appointed him as home minister twice in my cabinet,” Dahal added.
He reiterated that he held no formal meetings during his recent visit to India. “I was in India to attend the unity gathering of the overseas committee of our party. I held no other meetings,” Dahal claimed.
Dahal also said no agreement has been reached with other parties regarding the upcoming National Assembly elections. Rejecting claims that there was an understanding with other parties to secure three National Assembly seats, Dahal said his party was entitled to seats in proportion to its vote strength.
