KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is on a weeklong visit of China, reached the holy Kailash-Mansarovar area of Tibet Autonomous Region of China on Thursday.
The Kailash-Mansoarvar area in southwestern Tibet is the source of some of Asia’s largest rivers like the Brahmaputra, Sutlej, Indus and Karnali. Mt Kailash is revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Bon and Jain people. Hindus rever Mt Kailash, which they believe is the abode of Lord Shiva, as the ultimate pilgrimage.
Dahal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu via Lhasa on Saturday.
