Dahal pledges cooperation with all to complete remaining tasks of peace process Pushpa Kamal Dahal

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that he is ready to work with everyone to complete the remaining works of the peace process.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives after the Bill to Amend the Enforced Disappearances Enquiry, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act was tabled on Wednesday, Dahal expressed commitment to collaborate with all parties to empower the people.

Referring to recent political developments in South Asia, he underlined the need to move forward by joining hands. “I am ready to work with everyone to protect the constitution, safeguard the achievements of the people, strengthen democracy, and further empower Nepali citizens,” Dahal said.

He added that people are disappointed because their development aspirations have not been met and the commitments made during the peace agreement have not been realized. “People are questioning whether we are seeing regression instead of making progress,” Dahal added.

The former Prime Minister also said his party faced a split because he chose to join the peace process by laying down arms.

Dahal also said some leaders were still referring to the People’s War as a violent conflict, forgetting the consensus reached in the Constituent Assembly.
