KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli held a meeting at the former’s residence in Khumaltar on Wednesday.
This is Oli’s first visit to Dahal’s residence in more than two years.
The relationship between these two communist leaders, who weren’t even on talking terms until last week, is improving after they decided to form a seven-party alliance to form the government under Dahal’s relationship.
The two leaders held a discussion on the policy and programs of the new government, according to Dahal’s personal assistant Ramesh Malla. “The leaders discussed the cabinet decisions, as well as issues related to service delivery and good governance,” Malla added. “The two leaders are meeting on Thursday as well.”
Malla also said preparation was underway to include CPN (Unified Socialist) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal in the government.
According to Malla, leaders of the seven-party coalition will attend Thursday’s meeting. “The meeting will mainly focus on powersharing among coalition partners,” he added.
Malla also said preparation was underway to include CPN (Unified Socialist) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal in the government. Earlier in the day, Dhaal met Nepal and requested him to join the government.
