KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal held a discussion on Thursday afternoon to find ways to end the House stalemate.
In the discussion held at the Maoist Center’s parliamentary party office, the two former prime ministers discussed the current political ways to end the ongoing deadlock. Nepal emphasized the need to find a middle ground to resume parliament’s functioning, said a Maoist Center leader.
After the meeting, Dahal told mediapersons that the meeting focused on resuming House proceedings. He added that necessary decisions would be taken after consultations with other opposition parties.
The Unified Socialist, meanwhile, has agreed to the two-point proposal prepared by the Maoist Center to resolve the deadlock.
Maoist Center Deputy General Secretaries Barshaman Pun and Shakti Basnet, and Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, as well as Unified Socialist Vice Chairperson Rajendra Pandey, also attended the meeting.
