KATHMANDU: Banke administration has completely lifted curfew orders in Nepalgunj from Tuesday.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the District Administration Office, Banke, said the decision was taken in light of the recent improvement in the situation in the mid-western town.
The District Administration Office, Banke, imposed a curfew order in Nepalgunj last Tuesday due to social unrest in the town, which was reportedly triggered by a social media post targeting the Muslim community. The curfew began at 1:00 pm on October 3. While the daytime curfew was relaxed on October 5 as the situation improved, the nighttime curfew was in effect until Monday night.
