KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu, has imposed a curfew inside the Ring Road area of Kathmandu from 8:30 am until further notice.
Issuing a notice on Tuesday morning, Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal enforced the curfew order.
The curfew order imposed on Monday had expired at 5 am this morning.
According to the notice, the curfew covers the entire area within the Ring Road, stretching from Balkumari Bridge to Koteshwar Chowk, Sinamangal, Gaushala, Chabahil, Narayan Gopal Chowk, Gongabu, Balaju, Swayambhu, Kalanki and Balkhu up to the Bagmati River bridge.
Public gatherings, rallies and any kind of demonstrations are also banned within this area.
The order follows violent clashes during Monday’s Gen Z-led protests in Kathmandu which left 19 dead.
