Curfew enforced in Bara’s Simara Airport area till 8 pm

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Bara, has extended the curfew in areas around Simara Airport on Thursday as well.

The local administration issued the curfew order shortly after CPN-UML cadres and Gen Z protesters clashed earlier in the day.

Local officials say the curfew was extended because Gen Z protesters continued their demonstration, demanding action against those who attacked their friends on Wednesday.

The curfew order will remain in place from 1 pm to 8 pm. The curfew covers 500 meters on both sides of the Pathlaiya intersection to Jitpur Lalka Bridge on the Birgunj-Pathlaiya Road, as well as the 500-meter perimeter around Simara Airport.

According to the order issued by Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, no one is allowed to move within the designated area.
